THREE BARRED CROSS ICON
This icon tells the story of Salvation. The first bar near the top of the Three Barred Cross represents the place where Pilate's sign hung. It is countered by the words below the angels' knees which can be translated, as "Jesus Christ is victorious." The middle bar is the one on which Our Savior stretched out His arms to die for man's sins and the third, slanted bar is the one on which His feet rested. It measures 8".
