The Franciscan Peacemakers Social Enterprise connects women survivors of exploitation to safe housing, meaningful work and a healing network of support. The ministry founded by Capuchin Friars, Fathers Michael Sullivan and Robert Wheelock in 1995, is inspired by the Franciscan vision of a God who is encountered in poor and humble places and in the sister and brotherhood of all creation.
Their mission is to connect, employ, house and advocate:
- The Hospitality Center at Franciscan Peacemakers - provides respite and peer support for women
- Survivors are provided living wage jobs manufacturing and selling bath and body products
- Clare Community - is a two year program that provides housing for women survivors along with physical and mental support. Employees in residence save ½ their income leading them to be able to move and live independently upon program completion
- They provides education to parishes, schools, and community groups to raise awareness about human trafficking
