CARIDAD DEL COBRE (VIRGIN OF CHARITY) STATUE
The Virgin of Charity is the patron of Cuba. In 1608, three Cuban sailors were caught in a rough storm and decided to put in for the night. The next morning a small bundle floated up to them. On closer inspection, they saw that it was a statue of the Blessed Virgin. Even though it was in the ocean during the storm, the statue was dry. Its inscription read: "I am the Virgin of Charity."
Made of a resin/stone mix and measures 6½”W x 13”H x 4½”D.
