JESUS FACE - BYZANTINE OLIVE WOOD ORNAMENT
- Each olive wood ornament is made and finished in Bethlehem by a family that has been in business since 1925
- They are made from olive tree branches after harvest, and is dried for 12 to 18 months in a cool shaded area
- The wood is then sliced and arranged for drying another 4 months
- The wood is cut into shape, and sanded for smoothness and a hole is added for hanging
- The edges are rounded and sanded again for smoothness and a light sealer is applied
- A UV Printing machine is used to add the image, which gives a high quality, durable print
- The last step is adding a gold string for hanging
