MADONNA AND CHILD ICON
This beautiful gold and silver foil icon features Our Lady with Jesus in her arms with her hands folded in prayer. Beside Mary’s head are the letters “MP OY”, an abbreviation of the Greek: “Mater Theos” – the Mother of God and next to Jesus we see “IC XC” which stands for Jesus Christ. To the right of the Blessed Virgin, is written: “Seeker of the Perished”. This icon is mounted on a 3/4" thick piece of wood fiber board and measures approximately 16" x 13".
