Thirteen years before the tragic 1994 Rwandan genocide, the Virgin Mary and Jesus appeared to eight young people in the remote village of Kibeho. Through them, Our Lady pleaded for repentance, prayer, and love, warning that if hearts did not turn to God, Rwanda would become “a river of blood.”
Though few believed, her message was a call to conversion, mercy, and hope that continues to inspire the world today.
Our Lady of Kibeho is the first and only Vatican-approved Marian apparition site in Africa, a powerful reminder of Mary’s maternal care and her call to turn our hearts toward her Son.
