SACRED HEART OF JESUS - GREEN MOTHER OF PEARL FRAMED PRINT
In this popular 20th century depiction of Jesus, the viewer’s gaze is drawn to His Sacred Heart, burning with love beneath a cross and wounded by the encircling crown of thorns and bleeding from the open wound on the side. Yet, equally captivating are His eyes so full of sorrow and love. The message is one of Divine Love and hope for humanity but also one of sadness, for according to St. Margaret Mary, “[Jesus] showed me His loving and lovable Heart as the living source of those flames. Then He revealed to me all the unspeakable marvels of His pure love, and the excess of love He had conceived for men from whom He had received nothing but ingratitude and contempt. ‘This is more grievous to Me,’ He said, ‘than all that I endured in my Passion. If they would only give Me some return of love, I should not reckon all that I have done for them, and I would do yet more if possible.’” (from the third apparition of the Sacred Heart in July, 1674).
This eight color giclée print is displayed under glass, in a custom wood frame with green tinted Mother-of-Pearl inlay and a dark green lip.
Measures 11”W x 13”H overall and is finished with a wire hanger on the back.
