This is a beautifully detailed statue of the Franciscan Priest and Missionary, St. Junipero Serra, founder of the first nine of 21 missions in California. Featured here in full Franciscan habit, the saint is standing on a boat and holding a tall cross to symbolize his arduous journey from Spain in late 1749. In his right hand he is holding a small Church symbolizing the many missions he founded. Canonized on September 23, 2015 by Pope Francis; we celebrate his feast day on July 1st. This statue is made of cold-cast bronze and measures 9"H.
