This nicely detailed pewter medal measures 1 1/8” and comes on an 18” stainless steel chain with a clasp. It is packaged with an embossed pamphlet that contains information about St. Isabella and a prayer.
- Saint Isabella (also, St. Elizabeth of Portugal) was born into the royal family of Aragon, Spain.
- She was one of three children of King Peter III of Aragon and Queen Constance of Sicily; her older brothers would become successive kings of Aragon, Alfonso III and James II.
- Her namesake was her great-aunt, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary.
- She was deeply devout from a young age, spending hours in prayer and by the age of eight, she fasted regularly, prayed the Divine Office and attended Mass daily.
- At age 12 her father arranged her marriage to 17-year old King Diniz (Denis) of Portugal, a notable poet. Despite her husband’s infidelity and his abusive immoral lifestyle, Elizabeth showed remarkable grace, treating her husband with love and fulfilling her duties as queen with humility.
- St. Isabella/Elizabeth of Portugal is the patron saint of:

- brides
- charity workers
- those falsely accused
- victims of adultery and
- the Canary Islands, Spain
- Her feast day is July 4th.
