ST. ROSE OF LIMA STATUE -26"
Saint Rose is the first person born in the Western Hemisphere to be canonized by the Church. She was born in Lima, Peru on April 20, 1586 and lived a very penitential life wholly devoted to Jesus and living the Gospel. She is depicted wearing the black and white Dominican habit because she joined the Third Order of St. Dominic and took a vow of perpetual virginity. Rose died in Lima on August 25, 1617 at the age of 31 and her feast day is celebrated on August 23rd. This beautiful statue is hand-painted; it is made of fiberglass and has glass eyes. It measures 26" H and is imported from Peru.
