THE LAST SUPPER - JUAN DE JUANES (21 5/8” x 14 3/4”)
This is a custom eight color giclée print of the painting, The Last Supper (La Última Cena) by the Valencian artist Juan de Juanes (ca.1523-1579). It was painted for the base of the main altarpiece of San Esteban in Valencia, Spain. It is interesting to note the jug and basin in the foreground that allude to the foot washing that took place before the supper and the fact that all of the Apostles’ halos include their names except for Judas’ whose name appears on his bench right next to the bag of money he is hiding from the others.
Printed on fine heavily textured art paper and coated for protection (durability) and vibrancy; it is displayed in a custom inlaid oatmeal tinted Mother-of-Pearl wood frame with an antiqued silver lip and a wire hanger on the back.
Measures 21 5/8”W x 14 3/4”H overall.
Made in the USA.
