- Saint Rose is the first person born in the Western Hemisphere to be canonized by the Church
- She was born in Lima, Peru on April 20, 1586 and lived a very penitential life wholly devoted to Jesus and living the Gospel
- She is depicted wearing the black and white Dominican habit because she joined the Third Order of St. Dominic and took a vow of perpetual virginity
- Rose died in Lima on August 25, 1617 at the age of 31
- Her feast day is celebrated on August 23rd
- This beautiful statue is hand-painted and is made of fiberglass
